New Zealand has a relatively low threat of Zika virus epidemic as the country has no species of mosquitoes which spread Zika virus.
In February 2016, three cases of Zika virus was confirmed in New Zealand. The patients who contracted the virus have travelled to Tonga where they got the virus.
